Bridgestone has come out with two new tires aimed specifically at the replacement-tire market, the Potenza RE760 Sport and the Potenza G019 Grid, Car and Driver reports. The company is positioning the Potenza RE760 as an ultra-high-performance summer tire—but "with a treadwear rating of 340 it should last significantly longer than some of Bridgestone's original equipment tires like the Potenza RE050A."

The RE initially comes in 33 sizes, from 16- to 20-inch wheel diameters, all with a W (168 mph) speed rating, the report said. The RE760 is meant to replace the RE750 while offering a quieter ride and more predictable wet handling, due to its larger tread blocks and three wide grooves.

The G019 Grid, meanwhile, is meant as a replacement all-season tire. It includes more silica than the previous-generation G009 tire for more grip in the wet, as well as pronounced vertical grooves for channeling water and lateral grooves for (very modest) snow grip. These have a 460 treadwear rating, a 50k mile guarantee, and come in 27 sizes from 15 to 18 inches and up to 149 mph speed ratings.
