Hope you're sitting down for this one. BMW just announced a joint effort with venerable loudspeaker manufacturer Klipsch to design a high-end floor-standing model. The Klipsch Palladium P-39F comes in a horizontal zebra-grain veneer finish and stands almost 5 feet tall. The company said its curved enclosure was "influenced by the catenaries curve of physics," which I took to mean that they're extremely expensive—and they are.

The $15,000 speakers feature Klipsch's trademark horn tweeters, which are known for delivering ultra-high-efficiency output, flat frequency response, and low distortion. The metallic horn tweeters sit at the top of the enclosure, above several low-frequency drivers and standing atop a floating brushed aluminum base. Fortunately, there's no iDrive system in sight.
