You know that old story about the origin of The Stones' "Satisfaction," where Keith Richards wakes up in the middle of the night with the song's now-famous riff running through his head? Yeah, well, even though the musical muse is striking, that doesn't mean it's an opportune time to bust out the old electric guitar--particularly if your landlords happen to live in the same building.
Korg/VOX's neat little amPlug offers a clever solution to the problem. Shaped like an amp head, the device plugs directly into your electric guitar on one end and features headphone output on the other, letting musicians listen to their amplified guitar without forcing their neighbors to do the same.
The amPlug also features input for an MP3 or CD, so you can play along with your music collection. The device uses analog circuitry and comes in three styles--AC 30 ("vintage"), "classic rock," and "metal." It sells for $39 street.
