keyboardsI've spent the last few months trying out various keyboards and writing the keyboard feature story that's on PCMag.com today. We looked at 12 keyboards in all—some were great, some were flat-out terrible—in lots of different styles. Everything from gaming keyboards like the Merc Stealth, to sleek and stylish keyboards like Apple's newish aluminum one, to ergonomic keyboards like Microsoft's split-keyboard and Comfort Curve designs.

Ironically, after checking out so many different keyboards, I'm back to using the ones I started out with a few months ago. The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 has been a total wrist-saver for me at work; if your hands and wrists ache after too much typing, first off, go see a doctor, and then you might want to give the 7000 a try. Meanwhile, the Apple keyboard I use at home gets by completely on its looks. It's not very comfortable, but I don't use it for long stretches so it doesn't have to be.

The keyboards that drew the most attention from co-workers were the beautiful Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 and of course the neon-blue and hot-pink Saitek USB Multimedia Keyboards (which look more than a little incongruous in the workplace).

Check out the keyboard story on PCMag.com and see if there's one there for you. Or if you've got a favorite that we didn't include, leave a comment and let us know.

Ack! No love for the Logitech MX 5500? I'm dying to read more reviews of it (..maybe...I should...do one?) before I plunk down the $180 retail for it. :D

Also, I absolutely love my Logitech G15; I think you're spot on with it - I'm not a huge fan of the redesign from the flip-up LCD screen and blue lighting to the orange lighting and embedded screen though.

One of these days I'll convince my girlfriend to go wireless with the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 - she loves the wired version, the 4000, and it's getting harder and harder to find these days.
