TAGHeuer_Wide-NightVision.jpg

This cool eyewear set may be more of a fashion statement than a piece of automobile technology. However, its maker TAG Heuer - a company that's mostly known for classy watches - says that the Night Vision glasses were developed exclusively for drivers.

Originally designed for the internationally renowned 24 Hours of LeMans sports car endurance race, the Night Vision glasses optimize precision and enhance perception of contrasts for more confident driving at night. The pale yellow lenses increase the clarity of vision by contrasting dark blue and green surroundings without changing color perception, while the special ophthalmic lenses offer an anti-reflective treatment by reducing glare.

The glasses are also fashioned with "Reflex-type" flexible temples, which offer adjustable fit under motorcycle and racing helmets. The company says that both Formula One racer Sebastien Bourdais and Indianapolis 500 driver Sarah Fisher wear them during their circuit feats.

Night Vision glasses will be available to the public in early 2008. Want to check out this and other TAG Heuer Eyewear? Go here.
