Remember Tata Nano, aka the cheapest car in the world? Well guess what? It looks like this Indian-made speck of an automobile is currently commanding unparalleled attention at the Geneva Motor Show.
Sure, its projected sticker is a mere $2,400 and atypical Geneva attendant is an avid small care lover. Still, who knew a car with a 624cc, 32 hp engine could have such a following. In fact, according to Autoblog, "the tiny and inexpensive Nano is drawing the biggest crowds at the show."
Of course, admiring its utilitarian simplicity is not the only reason why Nano-stricken car fans have come to the Tata stage. The big news was the keynote speech given by the company's chairman Ratan Tata. The man himself said that the Nano would not be coming to Europe due to the stricter emissions and safety standards. That said, many of the insiders contend that the overhauled second generation of the minicar is inevitably bound for the Old World.
