UFO-power-strip-2.jpg

I can think of a lot of reasons to create gadgets that look like alien spaceships. Well, mainly, they're just... appealing. But in the case of the ezSpace UFO power strip from ezGear, function matches form and perhaps even does it one better.

This saucer-shaped gizmo (normally $34.99--right now, an intro price of $29.99) takes up very little space on your desk or floor, but it can accommodate plugs of any kind in its six standard grounded outlets, including those annoyingly bulky ones. The on/off switch is on the bottom, so you can't kick it off by accident (this is a great feature for fidgety me).

Note to ezGear: 90 percent of the folks who have wandered into my office and seen the UFO at work have asked me if it lights up in different colors. Version 2.0, hmm?

Here's a pic of the UFO at work under my desk right now.

Hmm... this looks suspiciously like the Powramid that debuted at CES:

You're so right, Rich. When I saw it in Carol's office, I assumed it WAS the Powramid!! Turns out it's not. But you know what? The Powramid is cheaper; you can pre-order it now for $23.99. And it comes in black or white.

Yep, quite similar! So it goes with "new" ideas in the world of gadgets...there are a few small differences in design, though, and the UFO is available now.

A very interesting concept, looks promising. I only wish that the plug was the wall flush style.

Actually, the ezSpace UFO was created and developed before the powramid and the price has been reduced. Its on ezgear.com for $29.99 today and shipping. I just got 2 of them and I love them.
