vu-small.jpg The LG Vu CU920, one of AT&T's first mobile TV phones, made its appearance at the CTIA Wireless trade show today. The Vu is a very cool device, sharing a lot of its UI with the LG Prada, including a big touch screen that vibrates when you press the large, clear icons. TV programs look great on the huge screen.

But I couldn't help but laugh at the size of the CU920's antenna. Like the LG VX9400 for Verizon, the Vu has a gigantazoid TV antenna that must shoot five inches out the side of the phone. On the VX9400, that made for really good mobile TV reception, but it's also a little silly looking.

if you wait and release it, then that technology will be outdated as well... technology is always changing... "the next big thing" becomes the old big thing all the time... its just the nature of all electronics

I think cell phones cause brain damage. Disregard them all and let's start back using the pay phones inside the pissy phone booths on the corners! Yeahhhh

Here's a thought: why don't they make a cell phone that actually works! You know, one where you can just TALK with it anywhere and not have it cut-out or drop calls. Is that so much to ask?

I was in China last year and they had all of this and much more, PLUS it was ALL GSM. USA is way behind in cell phone technology. WAY behind.

yes i believe this phone to be the next generation of awesome i saw one last year in china and it have a very unique way of locking and un locking when the phone is first purchased you simply un zip your pants and place your penis in to a port on the back of the phone this allows you to give a nut sample wih in turn allows you to lock and un lock the phone using only your jizz and if you buy the update the phone extends an anal probe up your ass i bought the up grade it is a must have!!!!!!

Well, george, that's a problem, not with the phone itself (unless yours is broken), but with the wireless network that is being received on the phone.

What we need is a kickass network, like in japan, with their phones. Seriously, "touch screen" this and "touch screen" that is just plain stupid, when you don't even have to bring credit cards with you anymore because your phone can be used at any store the same way. Apple, Sprint, Motorola, etc., pick up the pace and start selling the same phones as the ones in japan.

Phones here in the states suck, 3rd world and developing nations have better electronics than we do and thats a shame. The iPhone has been out dated by at least a year by smart phone standards. Just look at the handsets Nokia is putting out. They have cameras as high as 5 m.p. and internal flash memory of up to 16gb and with memory extension slots. Also, whats all the hype about 3G? There is something called 3.5G Now, HSPDA look it up, its standard with all of Nokia's latest handsets. Btw the Phone to beat right now is the N95 8Gb with a integrated GPS and a five megapixle camera, not to mention like a hundred other features. :-)

the antenna is used so that way you can watch streaming tv just like what you would see on tv like if your watching espn and home you will get the same thing on the phone at the same time with no delay like other phones

At&T carrying this phone soon. Did not know about the antenna though. I hope alot of people can get insurance on this one. The antenna mechanism is going to have to be pretty tough to hold up to any abuse at all. I know a smart phone should not be treated poorly, but things happen.

This is a bood phone, but i'd rather get the samsung instinct in June. The best smart, touch phone I have seen though, is the TCH Touch Cruise. That phone is way ahead and a good invetment. At least 10x better than iphone. Problem is you have to buy it unloked from an online site and activate with sprint to have it worth buying.

America is way behind when it comes to new mobile phone technology.
When I visit the Philippines I buy my new phones there; they are cheaper and technically more advanced than in the States.
Europe is years ahead of us as well! All their phones are unlocked and in most cases all you purchase is a SIM card that is aligned with any carrier you want. So much for living in Silicon Valley the technology pulse of the world!
