Is that a half-terabyte in your pocket, or--oh, never mind. Networking hardware manufacturer Buffalo announced today the U.S. debut of its 500GB MiniStation TurboUSB, "one of the highest capacity portable storage devices on the market today," according to the company.

The 5,400-rpm TurboUSB is the fastest addition to the company's line of MiniStation storage products, with speeds up to 30 percent faster than standard USB drives. The MiniStation is also ruggedized, offering shock resistance thanks to a plastic casing surrounded by shock-absorbing material. On the security end, the drive offers Buffalo's SecureLockWare. It requires no drivers at startup, is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows, and ships with Memeo's AutoBackup.

The MiniStation TurboUSB carries a suggested retail price of $329. More info is available on Buffalo's site.
