EeePC_thumbs.jpg Start stocking up on screen cleaner, Eee PC fans. Asustek's Vice President of Sales, Kevin Lin, confirmed that the company's second generation Eee PC lightweight laptops will sport an 8.9-inch touchscreen, according to a story in today's Digitimes.

The lightweight laptops, to arrive sometime in May or June, according to Lin, may also include GPS; prices are expected to "reach" $500. Installed RAM is will jump to 1GB, up from 512MB, and the solid-state flash storage will get a boost to 8-12GB, up from the previous 4-8GB. Also scheduled to drop around the same time: a $199 Eee-branded Linux-based desktop PC.
