Attention fellas, add spending too much time on your cell to your no-no list alongside tighty whities, bike seats, and Mountain Dew.

Cell phones and your swimmers don't get along, according to new research from the Cleveland Clinic. A recent study, published in the journal Fertility and Sterility [PDF link] found that the more hours men spend on their cell phones, the lower their sperm count and the more likely they are to have abnormal sperm.

The survey of 361 men, who were questioned about their cellular phone use at researcher Dr. Ashok Agarwal's fertility clinic, showed an association between sperm quality and cell phone use, which is to say that sperm count and quality declined as cell phone use rose.

The main concern for the researchers is that electromagnetic energy from mobile phones could potentially harm body tissue and damage DNA.

The researchers were quick to point out, though, that the findings do not prove that cell phones harm sperm. The team has two follow-up studies in the works to further assess the damage.

Or it means that men with low sperm counts are more likely to spend a lot of time talking on the phone.

anything in the war against teen pregnancy is great in my book, my 17 year old son spends far more time on his cell than either of my daughters did, LOL LOL, of course we do not let him depend on that alone, he is a fanatic about condom use also
