Hey, remember how we told you that Microsoft was discontinuing production on its external HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360? Well, guess what? While they've still got units in stock, you can get yourself a heck of a deal on a now obsolete media player.
Microsoft has knocked the official price of the console add-on to $49.99. Granted, studios are no longer actually making HD-DVD movies, but there are some 500 titles currently available on the format, most of which will likely be seeing some pretty healthy pricecuts themselves, in the near future, so it may be a good way to stave off the necessity for a hi-def player, at least until Microsoft officially embraces Blu-Ray...
