How creative is your favorite rug-rat? And wouldn't it be great if she could afford to pay for her own toys?

Venerable toy company WHAM-O, which brought us the Frisbee, the Hula Hoop, and many more iconic playthings, is celebrating its 60-year anniversary by sponsoring this contest open to kids ages 6 to 17. Kids can submit a "new and original toy or plaything that has never been sold before" or "an improvement or change to an existing toy or plaything." The grand prize is $2,000, along with profits should WHAM-O decide to make and sell the toy.

So put down that WiiMote, kids, and get cracking. The deadline is March 31, and the winner will be announced "before the summer." Sounds like perfect timing to me.
