Some of you (or a lot of you, according to the company) may have purchased the Vudu HDTV box, which serves sort of a set-top box with Netflix-type storage of rented movies that stream to it via satellite. PC Mag former VP Jim Louderback thinks it's better than the Apple TV.
Well, good news: the basic box now costs $295, down from $399. Why? Well, the company claims it's in part because of a "critical mass" of users. Unfortunately, I suspect that it's because the company wants a critical mass of users, and hasn't achieved that. Sad because you were an early adopter? Take heart: Vudu will supply you with a free $100 movie credit.
