Gearlog took a brief detour to the International wing of CES to check out some of the cool technology that's not yet available in the States. As expected, the two halls that housed the exhibits were full of amazing, bizarre, and above all, eye-catching tech.

One gadget that caught my eye right off the bat was the i-Buddy, from Hong Kong-based electronics manufacturer Union Creations Limited. The i-Buddy clips onto the top of your monitor, and for lack of a better description is a bit like a winged Nabaztag, which interacts with your MSN Messenger chats.

The USB-powered i-Buddy has eight different emotional motions, including happy, sad, and angry. The motions, triggered by the use of emoticons during chats, cause the i-Buddy to shake its body, light up, and flap its wings.

The device is currently available only in the U.K. and Brazil, but may become available in the U.S. in the near future.
