i2i%20Stream.jpgOne doesn't need to turn to the geekiest of gadgeteers to know that the most annoying thing about today's mp3 players and other mobile gear is data sharing. To most of us that means not being able to seamlessly share music between various units. Compatibility issues are still glaring. And the very same device conglomerates that blessed us with the Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN), aka Bluetooth, are now encoding their gadgets with security protocols that prevent file sharing.

Ariel Technologies believes it found the answer with its new i2i Stream Music Broadcaster. In lieu of storing data, this wireless digital audio device acts as a mediator by letting you broadcast music to other i2i Stream users via its MusicCaster technology. Just connect your mp3 player, PC, or home entertainment center to one end of the 2.4 GHz wireless transceiver, your earphones to the other, and you are ready to broadcast music within a 30-foot radius.

Of course the word 'streaming' is the real crux of the case here, since i2i Stream doesn't really share digital data the way a Bluetooth-capable device does. Another apparent problem is that it is merely a transmitter. So unless your amigos own the same devices, the tunes you so eagerly want to share will fall on deaf ears.

i2i Stream will make its official debut at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. When it does, we will attempt to bring you the latest buzz straight from the convention floor. Until then, enjoy this quirky TV spot.
