Gadgets aren't just for nerds with deep pockets any more. They're also a vital aspect in the ever-lucrative battle against terrorism. Wired has an enlightening slideshow taken from on the floor of the Homeland Security Stakeholders Conference, which just was held last week in Los Angeles.
The most fascinating part of the whole thing is the degree to which many of the devices featured resemble the sorts of consumer gadgets that we cover on a daily basis here at Gearlog. A few of the manufacturers names will also sound awfully familiar. For example, Canon; or Roomba creator iRobot. And hang on--is that a PS2 controller?

I`m quite fascinated about these kind of new technologies which serve for defense and to ensure your security. If it would be affordable I`m sure that I would buy one to be used in my home in Rosedale. So many people are afraid of the brand new technological things because they don`t really bother themselves to get know them, they always check the price which is quite understandable. Actually these are really familiar names of manufacturers.
