CES

Is it possible to cram all of CES into one long, bulleted blog post? Of course not, but what kind of gadget blog would we be if we didn't regularly attempt the impossible--or at the very least, provide a robust retrospective of our show coverage?

After the jump, we take a look at the best, worst, and most patently absurd moments from Gearlog's coverage of CES 2008.

• Did this year's show also mark the death of HD-DVD? Lance Ulanoff implores the format to keep fighting the good fight.
• Check out the coolest gadgets from CES Unveiled, including a radio-controlled beer cooler, a ladybug-shaped iPod dock, and a urine-testing coffee machine.
• Live from Las Vegas, it's Bill Gates. We bring you the Microsoft chairman's final keynote, complete with G&R's Slash.
• Sascha Segan gives us a quick hands-on video review of Motorola's new ROKR E8.
• More pre-show gadget goodness, direct from Digital Experience.
• Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang talks about his company's mobile future.
• LG keeps the watch-phone dream alive with their latest prototype.
• Is this Sprint's first WiMAX smartphone?
• They may not single-handedly save the environment, but these 100-percent-recycled speakers certainly can't hurt.
• Check out Spectec's tiny Mini-SD GPS Unit. Of course, if you misplace it, good luck finding it again.
• Searching for a new take on old torches? These LED flashlights may be just what you're looking for.
• Haier and Rhapsody have teamed up for a new, smaller way to carry your music collection in your pocket.
• We sat in on Panasonic head Toshihiro Sakamoto's keynote.
• Microsoft's much-buzzed-about Surface tabletop computer gets down to business, and we have the video to prove it.
• What do you get when you combine Guitar Hero with a passion for the air guitar? One hot viral video.
• Here's a shocking one for the ladies: a leopard-print Taser with an MP3-playing holder.
• It acts like Nabaztag, works with your MSN Messenger, and looks a bit like a fairy. What's not to like?
• If the words "bone conduction" don't creep you out too much, check out this new headset.
• Who says that tech mags don't know how to party?
iPod knockoffs abounded at this year's show.
• Lance takes a look at some of his favorite robots from the show.
• Is this the end of CES in Vegas?

Seems like the most bland year for CES in recent memory. No real innovation - just modest improvements to existing stuff.

Hmm. I have to wonder the same thing. Pretty much the only memorable thing from CES this year have been big big flat-screen displays (like Panasonic's 105-inch) and lots of green tech. Now I'm all excited about green tech, but man, seemed kind of bleh this year!
