Razer, makers of good gaming hardware with evil-sounding names, is up to its old tricks. This time around, the company has announced a new gaming surface at CES. Essentially a large mouse pad, not a third-rate Marvel super villain or a Gillette recycling plan, the Razer Destructor was developed with input from professional gamers, so it should be more than sufficient for a few rounds of Team Fortress 2.

Not content to simply push optical sensor technology to new levels in its gaming mice, Razer claims its Destructor surface will offer up to 25 percent better tracking for regular optical gaming mice, and up to 37 percent better tracking for laser gaming mice. All that, and it sports a "highly reactive gunmetal finish." So if your friends are making fun of you for using last month's issue of EGM as your mousepad, now might be a time to consider an upgrade. The Razer Destructor should be available sometime this month, for $39.99 in the US, and €39.99 in Europe.
