WiitunesGot a Nintendo Wii for Christmas this year? Not only are you pretty lucky, but you can wirelessly stream your favorite tunes with it, thanks to an open API (Application Programming Interface) from MP3tunes.

"The Wii is the latest popular gaming device that, with MP3tunes' technology, actually becomes a home stereo system," commented Michael Robertson, CEO of MP3tunes. "Consumers shouldn't be limited in where or how they enjoy their personal music collections, and we will continue to announce new ways MP3tunes is fulfilling its vision of giving people access to all of their music, anywhere they go."

To get started, sign up for a free MP3tunes Music Locker account on your computer at mp3tunes.com. Upload your music to your Music Locker. Then, make sure you have the Internet Channel installed on the Wii so that you can browse the Internet. (If you don't already have it installed, you'll need to purchase 500 Wii Points from the WiiShop.) Once the install is complete, you'll have immediate access to the Internet Channel. Log on to your MP3tunes account by going to mp3tunes.com/wiitunes, and start jamming to your collection.

In addition, music stored in your Music Locker can also be played on the Sony PlayStation 3, Windows Mobile devices, various Internet radios and more. Looking for a fun playlist to hear during your New Year's Eve party? MP3tunes is offering free New Year's Eve music playlists for its customers.

I have been using winamp remote to play music from my pc to the Wii. You don't need to upload your music to use it. You can even watch some video clips!

Orb (orb.com)also works. It plays many types of media and even streams TV if you have a tuner card!
