In another positive sign of the industry's slow, but sure march toward increased consumer freedom in the American wireless market, Palm announced today that they are releasing an unlocked version of the Treo 750, which had previously been available on the AT&T network. Customers will no be able to use the smartphone on T-mobile and other GSM networks. The handset comes with Windows Mobile 6 out of the box.
Palm is also offering an update to the new Windows OS as a free download for existing Treo 750 users on AT&T. The update includes increased functionality, an updated interface, better security, and HSDPA capability, which increases download speeds.
