What's the latest taste sensation in the world of South American frozen confections? How does the idea of low-capacity Flash-based DAPs strike you?

There are several things that I like about this story, which was uncovered by the kids over at Gizmodo--not the least of which is the new term "propsicle." The word was coined by the Brazil-based ice cream company Kibon, to describe the Popsicle-like decoys it's using to hide 10,000 iPod Shuffles. It's part of a new promotion--one that, from the sound of it, is already doing its job. (As an American gadget blog, we seldom cover the world of Brazilian frozen confections. I'm sure there are plenty of blogs in the world that do that already.)

Kibon designed propsicles with the cooperation of Apple, ensuring that the enclosed iPods wouldn't be destroyed by the kinds of humidity that comes with shoving an MP3 player inside a block of ice cream. After careful scrutinization, Apple gave the Brazilian company the thumbs up for the promotion, which begins December 18.

As for a promotion like this ever coming to the States, it's tough to imagine the FDA being too keen on the idea. However, I hear that the Good Humor man has some serious lobbying power on Capitol Hill.
