Microsoft has always been one to put a rosy slant on its DRM-friendly Windows Media certification. First it was the double-speaky PlaysForSure. According to Microsoft, however, PlaysForSure is "growing up," so it seems only fitting that they'd opt to rename it, right?

As Gizmodo correctly points out, the company seems to have hit on a much more confusing name, sure to breed a new brand of consumers who will stand befuddled in front of the Zune display at the local Bestbuy, wondering if these fancy new Certified for Vista players will make their XP machines burst into flames. Oh, well--it's not a total loss. Check out the sweet graphic. Ooh, transformy.

And it STILL won't play on the Zune, will it?
