Great Scott! Last night, RIM experienced another BlackBerry outage... We had to go back in time and purchase a Windows Mobile Device instead of a BlackBerry!
Verizon Wireless's tech support confirmed that BlackBerry had a service outage on its network. I stopped receiving email on my Verizon Blackberry at about 6pm yesterday. A friend on AT&T was also experiencing difficulties. Things, however, appear to be back to normal, but we'll talk to RIM to find out more details on what caused the problem.
This is officially gives RIM a BlackBerry outage three-peat in 2007. (First on 4/18 and the second on 8/7)
Update: RIM's response
RIM Statement - December 3, 2007
North American customers using BlackBerry Internet Service may have experienced a delay in sending and receiving email on Monday evening (December 3). The issue was resolved and service is operating normally. No messages were lost during the service delay. Web browsing, Instant Messaging, text messaging, PIN and phone services were not impacted. RIM continues to investigate the cause of the issue.
Service for BlackBerry Enterprise Server customers was not impacted.
RIM apologizes to customers for any inconvenience.

I definitely had some problems last night. I'm glad that someone out there in the media recognized it as well. I thought my body was giving off some weird EM field and disrupting my signal, but no, RIM strikes again!! So I am hearby stating my intention to launch a formal protest. On January 2, I will be picketing outside of RIM's headquarters in Waterloo, ON (that's Ontario for you backwards southerners). I'm sure I will see all of you there with me.
WE'LL GET EM.

Mine was fine. No issues at all.

I support over 100 Blackberries on our BES system and had no reports of any outages. I think 3 minor outages in a year is much better than most I.T. vendors can claim. How many times did Windows or other Microsoft products crash in the past year?
What's the big deal?

See, even Gearlog has problems. My last posting was posted 3 times within 3 minutes due to their server errors. LOL
