Hi Scott, presumably you're using the send file option under the bluetooth menu bar icon on the Mac. Make sure; you're able to browse recognisable folders on the phone from the Mac as some may not be accessible, that you agree to receive the file when the phone asks you, you have enough space on the phone.

Hi, I'm having problems transferring music to my phone also. I've connected the microSD card directly to my computer using a microSD adapter. I tried to drag my music directly to the microSD card but all it says is, "The card is not ready." Why is this?

Can you elaborate on your reply a bit? I am able to transfer files to my microSD card (to the 'media' folder I created) and the Rumor recognizes the .MP3 files but it did not recognize the .WMA files. The manual implies that the following file formats are supported: MP3, WMA, MP4 and WAV (at least these are the formats supported by Sprint's Music Manager). What file formats have you tested and were there any extra steps required to get the phone to recognize them?

Okay, so I just got a Sprint Rumor phone and I love it. My only problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to use pictures from a memory card as my background picture... and I can't figure out how to organize the folders on the memory card. I can create a new folder but I can't move my pictures to them... can anyone help? Please?

I have music on my micro SD card already from a previos phone but I try to set them as ringtones and it won't let me. It says there is nothing on the card but when I put it in the computer all the stuff shows up on the card. Is there a trick to this??

I just bought a Motorola S9 bluetooth stereo headset for use with my LG Rumor. After pairing the device, I still can't hear the music when using the Media Player to play my mp3 files. The headset works fine for calls, just not the music. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can The lg rumor play its music over the bluetooth? I have tryed 2 motorola's and a plantronic? nothing the bluetooth phone calls works but not the music? How do I tell the phones music player to go blue?

I have the same frustrating problem! I bought the Motorola S9 for the LG Rumor, but I can nit play music over the S9. Phone calls work just fine, but I can not play the music over the S9. Is this phone even capable of playing music over bluetooth. No one seems to know the answer. Help...anyone know???

It appears that this phone cannot play music over the bluetooth connection. The text editing software on this phone is also very disappointing, lacking any kind of basic copy/cut/paste functionality or the ability to delete more than one character at a time. Is it possible that LG could issue a software update to correct these problems?

Ok I work for a cell company and here are a few tips:
1. Format the memory card in the phone before putting music on it
2. Music tends to show up when it is in mp3 format
3. I don't believe the ux260 is "stereo" bluetooth capable, meaning: it won't work with the s9

Does anyone know how to organize the music on the LG Rumor? Can it be done or is the music listed in alphabetical order (in my case it goes by each number of the track) always? I would like to organize it by album. Help would be greatly appreciated.

i have the same issue as mandi, i have a miro sd card in it, i have yet to try hooking it directly up to the computer due to the fact my card reader is miss placed, but i cannot get bluetooth to work for songs, any help on this? also is it possible to have any songs on the mirosd card to be used as a ringtone?

First time here, felt obligated to respond, as I've stumbled across some of these issues as well. I just purchased this phone yesterday and discovered today, that if you have a microSD card, first put it in the phone, then either attached it to the computer or remove it from the phone and put it in the sleeve adapter and attached it to the computer via USB port. There will be several folders already established on the card for use in the phone. If you want the music to show up in the music player, put the files under My Music. If you want to be able to use them as a ringtone, put the files under Audio. This allows your phone when you put the microSD card back in it, to be able to locate the files where you want to use them.
Also, if you're dragging files from iTunes, they have so many limitations on exporting the music, that you have to convert them to .mp3 in order for the phone to be able to play them.

okay I have the music on the phone in the media player, is there anyway to get it so I can use it as a ringtone. I tried the previous suggestion of putting it under Audio and it doesn't make a difference.

As far as ringtones for lg rumor the easiest way to get them is voice record then set as ringtone the other way is to convert the mp3 to 3gp2 which is a video file i use ringtone media studio software to convert to 3gp then go to image editing(same software)browse for converted 3gp file click on it save as 3gp2.now i use a memory card so i put it in my phone take a small video with phone so the memory card has created a root folder put the card in your reader find your 3gp2 file drag it to the 100lgdcf folder put the card back in your phone go to pictures my albums set as ringtone and your done wasnt that easy?

are you typing the wrong acess code? have you tried using the last 4 #s of the other persons phone #?

ok. i've gotten the Rumor to play my mp3's.
i've gotten an sd for the Rumor..
i can listen to my mp3's just fine..

i however CANNOT get my mp3's to be set as a ringtone, i've tried multiple ringtone maker sites, and have made many ringtones from 45 seconds, all the way down to 20 seconds, and i have saved them to my sd card, but yet they will not be accepted as a ringtone..

like; when i go to settings, and ringtones, and "My Content" it will say; "NO RINGER FILE!" .. im like; wtf?? so, my question is, along with others here;

-HOW THE HELL DO YOU MAKE A RINGER FILE.
-AND HOW DO YOU SEND YOUR SELF MADE RINGTONES TO THAT FILE?

because i've made plenty of different folders, even a folder in a folder, to try to move the ringers around on the SD card, and it still says that i havent a ringer file..

*sigh* so yes, the ringers are short enough, and yes, i have an SD card, and yes, i've tried just saving the ringers straight onto the SD card and saving it under mulitple folders, but i was wanting to know how exactly what i need to do to just make it work!! you can put itunes music on a rumor by dragging your whole library into the MUSIC folder on your rumor. since i dont have a usb cable, i put it on a jump drive then transferred it to my laptop that has a built in sd cardreader and dragged the files from the jump drive to the MUSIC folder on the microSD card.

note-my rumor IS compatible with my 4 GB microSDHC card.

I CANNOT get this stupid phone to even show up on my Mac. It's a G5 (before the intel chip). I can set the ring tone fine. I was able to send only 2 music files through Bluetooth then the cell phone refuses it. I also bought a USB cord to connect to the computer & cell phone, & it doesn't even show up on my computer. The computer will charge the stupid phone but won't put on icon anywhere to show that the phone exists. What can I do?

I have the several albums from my computer saved to the SD card in my LG Rumor phone. They show up on the menu just fine and appear to be playing but I don't hear any music. I have my earphones on but nothing comes through. Other tones are working but the music is not. Help.

all you have to do is buy songs on your itunes then set up sprint music manager which isn't hard then when you have that set up plug your usb into the phone and it should open up a screen that says on the bottom drag songs to be transferd here under that you should see add music click on that and a box should show up and it will give you three options click on the second one(full search) then all the songs you bought will be in the sprint music manager library then drag those songs into the box where it says drag and drop songs here then once you put all the songs in the box click transfer and let the songs transfer when your done unplug the usb from the phone and enjoy
