The good news here is that you may not have to worry about the much-debated effects of cell phone radiation after all. Your phone may just opt about of the whole slow-burn death scenario, as it did for one South Korean man.

Reportedly the battery of the quarry worker's LG handset exploded in his front shirt pocket. The worker was found dead at his workplace outside of Seoul, with the battery melted into his shirt.

According to The AP, "LG Electronics confirmed its product was involved in the accident but said such a battery explosion and death was virtually impossible." Likely story.

The moral of the story: Keep your cell phone in your pants pocket--your rear pants pocket.

Still i don't understand how that can kill a person.
1. considering a person's age; maybe he got scared from the blast and had a heart attack.
2. he choked on a piece of food when the battery popping scared him.

...or you can get a little more creative and say:

2. battery popped and made his chest cave in form the sonic blast it created...
3. the explosion produced an unbelievable amount of radiation incinerating his nervous system.
4. he heard the blast and thought he got shot, so he died.

I'm sorry if I sound disrespectful, and I'm sorry this happened to him, but who dies from a battery popping. Its not like there were 5oz of plastic explosive attached to the battery...

It has been discovered that the man was killed when his coworker accidentally drove a backhoe into him - breaking his ribs and spine. The accident also caused the phone to short out and burn giving his coworker a plausible but untrue version of events.
