Let's face it: nerds and geeks can't be made fun of anymore. They're the ones who score the high-paying jobs! Sure, they may not always get the girls, but a Linux computer club at Washington State University is hoping to use their computer knowledge to change that with its first Nerd Auction. According to MyWay.com, Wash State girls "can buy a nerd and he'll fix your computer, help you with stats homework, or if you're really adventurous, take you to dinner!" Ben Ford, president of the Linux Users Group, said on its Web site recently. The college is hoping to recruit more women to its computer science programs, and what better way than by holding a nerd auction? Here's how the auction will pan out: A handful of nerds will be auctioned off, and the girls who (hopefully) bid on them will get the chance to further their computer knowledge in exchange for a total makeover and possibly a date! Ford is said to have spoken to several sororities to co-sponsor the auction this month or next, but so far, no one has agreed. Oh c'mon sorority girls: like you have anything else better to do than party!
