Even the biggest fanboys following the Blu-ray/HD DVD debate sometimes forget about New Media Enterprises' VME disc, whose first-generation discs store 24 Gbytes of high-definition video data. Yes, that's right -- it's the third player in the high-definition DVD race.
The reason it's tough to take the company too seriously, unfortunately, is that aside from a handful of major titles -- Hostage, Apocalypto, 16 Blocks, Lord of the Rings [not the latest trilogy], Pulp Fiction, Lord of War, Babel, Saw II and Saw III, and others -- most of the rest are Bollywood offerings.
That said, don't let us stop you. TechnaBob reports (via Engadget) that the players hve begun showing up on Amazon.com for $189.
