My handyman showed me his, and I had to have one. The Ridgid SeeSnake Micro is a digital camera with the photosensitive element at the end of a sturdy but flexible 3-foot cable. Both are waterproof. The handle has a 2.4-inch color LCD screen. Twist-and-lock attachments include a hook, magnet, and mirror--so you can see what toy your kid flushed down the toilet before you pull it back out.
Like most men, I like to think I'll do more of that handyman stuff than I really will, but the SeeSnake Micro has proven to be invaluable for little things. What's at the back of the top shelf of the closet? I could use a stepladder and flashlight, or I could just stick the SeeSnake Micro back there. Want to see what's in a room without opening the door? Stick SeeSnake under the door. Want to see what's leaking under the car without crawling under it? You get the idea. The SeeSnake Micro is $239 list, available at good tool stores.
