It's been a while since I've been excited by a new piece of technology, but this new Gateway XHD3000 30-inch Extreme HD Display just keeps throwing features at you. And before you ask, yeah, you'll pay for it: it's priced at $1,699.99, as much or more than an actual PC.
But geez: 2560x1600 pixels and a 6-ms refresh rate is where it gets started. There's eight speakers, multiple connections (with DVI and HDCP, of course) picture-in-picture support, IR control, and even the ability to lock it to a PC via hardware and software. More details over at ExtremeTech. Oh, and I've already been assured that a formal review is on the way.
