blingrazr.gifFunny thing about technology: after a few months or even weeks, that fancy new gadget that you shelled out all of that money for, becomes just another piece of soon-to-be outdated machinery. There are a few things that you can do to extend the device's coolness shelf life, if only by a short stretch of time.

The first going the DIY route, finding a way to soup up or otherwise pimp out your device, helping it standout amongst the crowds of people sporting the same gadget. Unfortunately for many people, this method requires creativity and/or technical prowess.

The second method, however, like so many other things in this capitalist system of ours, simply requires a lot of money.

You see, these days it can be pretty much taken for granted that when a device becomes popular, someone is going dip it in gold, maybe add a few diamonds, and then repackage it as a luxury item. In the case of the RAZR2, Motorola opted not to left a third-party manufacturer take what is rightfully theirs.

Today the company introduced a limited edition version of the RAZR2, featuring, "Elegant 18K gold-plated accents showcase a luminous, black slate, vacuum metal finish. A soft-touch back, embossed with a sensual snake skin texture. Luxurious details such as elegant pin stripes on the CLI lens, an engraved diamond-cut pattern on the sideband and a linear etching on the navigation wheel."

As far as actual functions, the handset features clearer voice technology, improved interior and exterior buttons, Opera Mobile Browser 8.5, and a 2.0 megapixel camera. The phone also ships with a Bluetooth headset featuring match gold ascents.

It should keep you pretty well blinged up until someone decides to take a Bedazzler to a KRZR.
