GoodCleanTech Recycling Superguide

cd-panda-chair.jpg

Sure, you can recycle your CDc the old fashioned way. But then you won't get to sit on this very avant-garde chair, made almost entirely of used-up compact discs.

Of course, environmentally-sound disposal old CDs is a given. But if you have some free time on your hands, you can actually accessorize while recycling. Tree Hugger suggests Spanish designer Belen Hermosa and her Panda Chair for inspiration. "Hundreds of blank disks come together to create this shiny, not entirely comfortable-looking chair," the post says.

Though it's hard to judge about its comfort by merely looking at it, I'll venture to say that if those discs are tightly glued to each other and the rows actually rotate around their axis', Panda Chair might just be more comfy than its looks. Otherwise, it's a death by a thousand cuts.

Yikes! Where was this back in the days of the AOL CDs that wound up on everyone's doorstep?

I think you can still find them in convenience stores and at the back of customer service desks....sounds like a great geek project to me!
