Here's a killer gift idea. For $399, you get one laptop for a friend or loved one, and a second one will go to a child in a developing nation. Honestly, anyone who doesn't appreciate that sort of sentiment isn't the kind of person you ought to be buying $400 Christmas presents for, in the first place.
For a limited time, One Laptop Per Child is offering the deal through their Give 1 Get 1 program. The deal launches on November 12th--if you'd like a reminder in your inbox, you can sign up via the initiative's XO Giving Site.
If you're into the whole altruism thing this year, you can send a single laptop to a needy child for $200.

I would like to know more about which (50)nations do you consider as "developing" for this program. The reason I only ask is that our church has been supporting a small church in the central eastern mountians of Mexico; named La Purisima. It is a villiage of around 1,000 people. We have helped build a new church for them, and we bought a single computer for their school. This is an interesting program which I would like more information about. Can we buy a $99.00 (or less)laptop an you (or we) ship them another. How could this help us as a church of 200+ ?
