Just purchased a Toshiba Satellite P205-S6237 or other Toshiba laptop with a Labelflash-enabled drive? Then you can create custom high-res DVD disc designs, thanks to Memorex's new Labelflash DVD-R media.
Labelflash DVDs "include a specialized dye layer which interacts with the laser in a Labelflash-enabled DVD drive to produce high resolution designs on the label side of a DVD." Just burn data onto a disc, flip it over, and the drive creates high-contrast images greater than 400 dpi resolution to make your discs look like art.
Memorex Labelflash DVD-R media will be available this month at major consumer electronics retailers and at www.eMemorex.com. A 10-pack will sell for $14.99.

How exactly is this different than Lightscribe, which as been around for years now? From what I could find, the Labelflash disks only come in blue, while Lightscribe disks can be had in various shades. Think I'll stick with my LG Lightscribe drive, since that technology is available on drives from multiple manufacturers, and the discs are available everywhere.

It's really not that different from LightScribe. The company doesn't make any claims that it's better than LightScribe. But with anything, you're only as good as your competition!

I have the new labelflash technology and I am not so sure that I like it. So far I have been unable to get music on the DVD-R, the music coming from a CD. Do Ih ave to have the music on my computer first? And if I can only use it in a DVD player what good is it in my car?? I understand lightscribe works with CD-R why doesn't labelflash? So many questions..
