Remember that little green scare the folks in Cupertino had a little while back? Despite the turtlenecked marauder's recent pledge to create a greener Apple, Energy Star's new 4.0 ratings standards managed to sneak up on the company, knocking all their current machines out of the running.
So, what's the environmental skinny on those new iMacs, announced at yesterday's keynote? According to EcoGeek, the machines will indeed keep Apple in good, clean standing with the governmental standards group. The new iMac are energy efficient, and as the pictures indicate, use a lot less plastic. They're also more recyclable than past models, and use a glass display, rather than plastic.
Personally, we've got out fingers crossed for some solar-powered MacBooks.

Shiny Shiny! I'm curious to get my hands on one of these guys, but goodness knows I'm not doing my own carbon footprint any favors with ANOTHER computer in the house. XD
I did tell my Dad I'd replace his old Blueberry iMac (I'm a terrible son) this holiday season, so let's see how the reviews pan out!
