Timex just announced a fun new addition to its watch family, and while it's nothing earth-shattering, it certainly warrants a mention. The Timex Ironman is already established as an excellent workout companion, keeping track of your laps, armed with interval timers, and waterproof up to 100 meters. Now, Timex has made it iPod friendly: just plug the included dongle into your iPod and your Ironman with "i-Control for i-Pod" (uh, guys, there's no hyphen in iPod) acts as a remote for your tunes.

It doesn't use Bluetooth, but does operate in the 2.4 GHz range. You can play, pause, skip, backtrack, and adjust the volume via buttons on the watch. These same buttons control different workout-related features on the watch when it's in a certain mode, so whether you're controlling your iPod or your lap timer can depend on how long you hold down the button.

This is great for people who throw their 'Pod in a bag when on the subway or clip it onto clothing, when working out--it even works when the iPod has the Hold button activated. Not bad!

Availability is sketchy, but definitely by August 15th we should see these watches in stores and online for anywhere between $99 and $125.
