Dell isn't the only PC manufacturer offering Linux PCs. DesktopLinux.com reports that Hewlett-Packard released its first mass-market PC with Linux pre-installed. More specifically, "the company will soon be selling RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) Desktop 5 on its HP dx2250 PC to Australian customers."
The RHEL Desktop 5 is a low-end business Linux desktop that comes with a variety of AMD processors, from the 1.60 GHz AMD Sempron 3000+ processor to the 2.8 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5600+ processor. It has 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.
The RHEL HP dx2250 will start at $600 Australian dollars ($489 USD). No word yet on availability in the U.S.
