Helio%20Fin.JPGOfficially dubbed "the Fin by Samsung," Helio's latest folding phone is claimed to be the industry's flattest at just 11 mm deep.

Since it's a Helio, the company is emphasizing communication: there's out-of-the-box access to (whew!) Yahoo! Messenger, AOL's AIM Service and Windows Live Messenger, email from Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, Helio Mail, EarthLink email, the ability to add additional IMAP or POP3 email accounts, and push mail support for Yahoo!, AOL, Windows Live and Helio Mail. Photos and video can be directly uploaded to Flickr and YouTube.

Fin is now available at Helio retail locations, online or by calling 888-88-HELIO; the phone is priced at $175 through a limited time offer. More features after the jump.

The Fin contains a 3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, night mode and built-in Photo Studio for high quality photos and video, a 2.3 inch QVGA display, 100MB available internal memory expandable via microSD to 4GB, an HTML browser, plus GPS. The phone supports MP3 and AAC audio, and MPEG-4 and H.264 video.

In addition, the phone includes Garmin Mobile, which, as the name suggests, takes advantage of the phone's GPS features, providing real-time directions.

Sounds nice but I'd like to see the full specs. Will it sync with Outlook for contacts and calendar. I could care less about email or browsing the web with a phone. Also have better things to do than watch a video on the phone - some people have too much time. MP3 is OK if I can listen to books and it has good bookmark support. How long will the battery last? Does it have voice dialing? So little info is available why even mention it?

I think my grandson will most likely purchase one of these, he's very much into trying out the latest item available..especially when it comes to the new capabilities of the cell phones!
Thanks for sharing, I'm sending him a copy of this ad while he is in Navy Boot Camp so he'll have time to think about it, at least, even tho he isn't allowed to have one at all right now..I think this ad will make his mouth water a bit, don't you? He's only 19 yrs old..

I found the Fin for free as a 1 day sale here: http://www.hellohelio.net/

The Fin is great, especially since one of the local dealers near me (www.heliobuy.com) now has it for free after the $50 mail in rebate. They even hooked me up with no activation fee. Only thing I don't like about them is that they seem to be always backordered and had to wait a few days before getting it, but still definately worth the wait.
