The thing about cats is that you don't have to spend a lot of money on cat toys. They're perfectly satisfied with chasing a string that their owners are walking around the house with. But, there are those times when you're just too tired to find the time to play with them. Introducing the Fling-ama-String from MoodyPet.com: it's a battery-operated, motorized cat toy! Place the contraption on any standard door knob, select from two different speeds, and watch the machine automatically fling a string! The machine is made up of "a white flat elastic conveyer belt which is constantly rotating. The string flings in and out for kitty's non-stop amusement. As soon as they let go the string automatically starts to rotate again and again and again!." It's said to improve paw-eye coordination and won a "Best of Show" award at the largest pet industry trade show. It will be available in September 2007 for $24.95, but you can preorder it now. Thanks to reader Michele Levan for the tip!

What it really needs is to hide the string for 5-25 seconds then drop it in front of the cat and then it stops and waits a different amount of time before flinging the string out :)

The Fling-ama-String is now in stock for only $23.97 at Pawprints Across Your Heart at http://GiftsForPaws.com . My cat Milo was playing with hers all Labor Day weekend. When I came home from work last night she "led" me to the Fling-ama-String and sat in front of it until I turned it on. She loves it!

I just picked this up at my favorite local pet shop - Cat Connection. I got it home, set it up, flipped it on...and oh my...my cats love it!!! I mainly got it for my younger, 2 year old kitty, but my 16 year old senior cat loves it, too!! I am more than thrilled!! They also sell it on their website at
www.thecatconnection.com plus tons of other very cool, unique stuff, just for cats and their people!

I would like to know where I can get one in Canada. Many of the US companies won't ship it here or it will cost me an arm and a leg to do so!
