liquid airbag

Most of today's laptops come with special sensors that park your hard drive whenever they detect a sudden jolt. Sony, however, wants to push the envelope further by being the first to invent a gadget airbag. They've recently filed a patent on a liquid airbag designed specifically for hard drives (and any gadget that houses one). The system will work just like a car's airbag, so when your hard drive experiences a shock, the airbag will deploy and keep your HDD (and your data) from going kaput. They plan on using water or silicon oil as the liquid. As long as there's no accidental spillage, I'm pro anything that keeps my HDD alive.

Argh! This meme is driving me nuts! How can something filled with liquid be called an AIRbag?! It's either filled with liquid or air... make up your mind! :-P
