Wii boxingCanadian health club Studeo 55 implemented the Wii system into a 400-square foot room with a large projection screen to attract younger clients. According to Fox News, "Nathan Mellalieu, the owner of Studeo 55, said he decided to bring video games into a fitness environment after watching how much fun some children were having and, more importantly, seeing them sweating." I've played the Wii before, and yes, you definitely get a workout while playing!

Mellalieu estimates that by participating in one session of Wii boxing, tennis or bowling, you can burn between 75 to 125 calories. In addition, a study by researchers at the Liverpool John Moores University in England found that "regular use of the console could burn up to 1,830 calories a per week -- the equivalent to almost four Big Macs." Wow.

So the next time you hear someone complain that working out is boring, just let them borrow your Wii.

The big shocker for me: Four Big Macs adds up to not much more than 1,830 calories! I would have guessed something like twice that.

Yeah, you'd certainly think it'd be more! Unless they're lying to make McDonald's look better. LOL
