Here's something we've had fun with in the Labs: We've synced the iPhone to three different computers. Right now, our iPhone is synced to Sascha's extensive contact list on his computer; my music, video, and podcast/audiobook library on my computer; and Dan's photo library on his PC.
This is possible because, while music, video and podcasts/audiobooks are always linked together (they must be synced to the same iTunes library), photo syncing now takes place outside of the iPod parameters, as does info and contact syncing.
What's the real-world value of this? Well, you could sync to your home computer's music and video library, your work computer's contact info, and your wife's photo library on her computer--not bad, huh? What's more, it doesn't matter whether the computers are Macs or PCs--the iPhone works with both without having to be reformatted. Just make sure each computer you plan to use has iTunes 7.3...

This is NOT a new feature. For years I synced my iPod with my home Mac for music, video, podcasts, and synced the same iPod with my PowerBook for contacts and calendars!
