Sad to say, we weren't the first to publish a hands-on iPhone review. That "honor" went to Steve Job's four favorite technology journalists who were given a two-week head start on the rest of the industry. This kind of thing does raise some eyebrows, but let's not dwell on last week's news. Seems like the decision played out well-enough for Apple, the media frenzy was simply extraordinary.
That said, if you read those first four reviews and you read ours, I think you will find we have done more testing, provided deeper analysis, and simply answered more of the questions that people have about this ground-breaking, but seriously imperfect, device. We are not quite done yet, we still have to perform our battery rundown tests, which could be critical to the long-term success of the iPhone. We will also be testing out new apps with the iPhone as they become available, but we feel certain enough about the iPhone's capabilities to pub this review and give it an official PC Magazine rating.
I would say more, but Sascha and Tim have been working around the clock in the Lab to get this review done. It pretty much says it all. (I know, I had to edit the entire thing on Saturday.) It isn't a quick read, but it is a damn good one. And if spending $500 for an iPhone has so much as come up in conversation, you should check it out. And make the call for yourself.

I would like to understand why such a phone like iphone...has not been given options like voice dialling, recognition ect..., video, gps , and would be most beneficial if you could do IM chat / or another similar application to compete with the blackberries in that sense ect...and maybe even sat nav type options as well / not just map reading?? would we expect these in future models? I t would seem they have come up short.
