C2 Climate Control

My office is frigid in the summertime and roasting in the winter. Our facilities folks don't seem to realize it, but when my colleagues walk around in fleece jackets in August, there's a problem. Herman Miller has a solution, and it's called the C2 Climate Control system. This little device is designed to make small workspaces like cubicles or small offices more comfortable without having to put in a call to your building's maintenance folks to turn down the AC if it's too cold in your office.

The C2 Climate Control uses a fraction of the power that traditional space heaters or air conditioners and fans require. Herman Miller claims that the device will work to keep the area around it a constant, comfortable 72 degrees F, and if it's already too cold it can increase the temperature by up to 40 degrees. If the temperature is too warm, it can cool your work area by up to 8 degrees. The device isn't available yet; look for it on store shelves sometime this summer. Pricing hasn't been announced. Even so, if this little guy can keep coworkers from arguing about how hot or cold their office is, it's worth every penny.

I could seriously use one of those. It's never a happy middle ground for anyone in my office, temerature-wise.

Before saying anything about C2 Climate Control, we need to know at least its cooling and heating capacities vs. respective air flow rates!

Raevyn: My office is perpetually freezing, I would love something like this!

Mike: Check out the product page here:

There's no info to the effect you're looking for there, but when the product comes out, I'm sure people will get their hands on it and give it a try. I know I'd love to test it!
