I can't imagine purchasing an iPod, and then spending more money on the iPod case than I did on the player itself. But that won't stop some people with a lot of spare cash from spending over $800 on Kiwami Studios' Factron Re-nano iPod case. The case is made from solid titanium, brushed vertically to give it a sleek look and texture. The made-to-order case is already available from Kiwami Studios in Japan.
I wouldn't expect the devices to start showing up on store shelves; the Factron Re-nano case is definitely a designer item-and it's attractive enough. There are slots at the top of the case for the hold switch, and at the bottom for the headphones and the dock port. There are holes in the case for the iPod screen and the click-wheel, but every other part of your iPod is protected. Additionally, the most odd-but-useful feature of the Factron Re-nano case is the four attachments on the case, two on the top and two on the bottom, designed to allow you to attach your iPod to a lanyard or belt clip or keychain. The case is very attractive, and in some regards may be useful. And it even stands out among the crowd of iPod cases. Sadly, only the very wealthy would likely be willing to pay more than five times the cost of an iPod for an iPod case.
