MUSIQ.jpg Just in case you didn't have enough options for cramming more entertainment into your life the MUZIQ by LG from Sprint is here to fill the void. Using Sprint's mobile broadband network, the MUZIQ is touted as an "attractive device [that] gives customers the freedom to easily receive and listen to music without cables or wires." No wires? No cables? Over the air? Shut up! We were wondering when someone would come up with a portable device that can take scrambled "radio" signals and turn them into sounds.

Oh, it's a phone, too.

Available in July, the MUZIQ is a nifty little gadget that will allow you to download MP3s on-the-go and offers Bluetooth. You can download full-length songs, access Pandora for streaming music, watch Sprint TV, and even use Sprint Navigation to watch yourself walk into people and things as you do all this while walking down the street.

Like any good portable device, the MUZIQ offers a camera function, text messaging, and other assorted accoutrements of mobile phone-dom. Sprint is very excited about this:

"We are very excited to add MUZIQ to our portfolio of industry-leading music phones," said Oliver Valente, Sprint's senior vice president of product development.

See, very excited indeed.

Oh, yeah, just in case you don't have an iPod or some other MP3 player, this phone will offer 4GB of storage for music. And, like any good cell phone, its price ($99) is subject to a two-year service agreement with Sprint.

A lot can happen in two years. The Wii could make all perambulation unnecessary. Sony could finally invent the Brain Phone, and for a nominal fee (plus a lifetime agreement) stream music and phone calls to your cerebral cortex.

Sadly, we live a brutal age in which you have to use your legs to walk, your fingers to dial and your eyes to look at your TV phone. So, until we can all have reruns of What's Happening imprinted on our brain matter, the MUZIQ is a nice alternative to surgery.

Too bad this isn't offered with other service providers. The sprint navigator i think is cool because you can watch yourself while doing what you need to do without a problem! It's also a good thing that this phone works with most mp3 players. Price isn't bad either. I want one!

I've had the Muziq for a couple of months now and LOVE it! No more carrying around my mp3 player and phone. It's all in one. Plus, I can have different cards for different music (Christmas etc).

One VERY cool feature is the FM transmitter. Now, if I want to share my music with others, we only need an FM radio around. No cords to plug in. No FM radio? The built in speaker isn't bad (sound similar to a 1960's am transistor radio). Not great, but not bad.

I would HIGHLY recommend this phone!!

I had the MUSIQ for a couple of days and man, YEEE DOGGIES! It is a camcorder/camera/voice recorder/mp3 player! I certainly loved it at first site and the design and shape is PERFECT! I also love how they put the IPOD BUTTONS on the phone. It is only 99.99, GREAT DEAL!

I currently carry the LG Fusic. The Musiq looks like a *major* upgrade from that phone. Im just wondering what the outright cost for the Musiq is. I'm on a RadioShack Sprint employee plan so, unactivated price would be nice.

What I want to know is if I can put songs that I already OWN onto the Musiq and listen to them. Also, I played with one in a Sprint store and it's got this little flash thing, but it doesn't seem to affect how bright the picture comes out. It's pretty dim.

I bought this for my daughter, and it was pretty sweet until a couple of months ago (Spring 2008). Then her phone would not connect to make phone calls. We had a replacement policy, so we had the phone replaced, but the replacement phone does the same thing. My older Fusic phone has no problems...what a shame!
