Gearlog stopped by the Holiday Gift Guide Show 2007, earlier today, during our daily trip to Times Square. We'd be lying if we said that we didn't feel a bit out of our element for a large portion of the show, as vendors waved cheese graters and teddy bears in our faces, attempting to convince us that their products were perfect fodder for a gadget-centric blog. Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, the teddy bear industry stopped innovating with the advent of Teddy Ruxpin.
That said, we did manage to find a handful of Gearlog-worthy gadgets. Check out the goods, after the jump.
Kena Kai's new DataSafe Wallets prove that blocking your information from RFID data theft doesn't mean you can't be fashionable. The company rolled out a new line of cool looking wallets for men and women. They also introduced some iPod cases, which unfortunately don't have music piracy protection built in...yet.
There are probably far worse things in the world than electric razors that take really, really long to charge up, but when you're running late for work in the morning, there isn't much time to make that last. The Sanyo SV-RX10 will give your full face a shave on a one-minute charge. Nine minutes will give the razor a full charge from a dead battery.
Terrestrial radio may be dead, but no one went out of their way to inform the folks at HD Radio, who had products on display from Polk Audio--the I-Sonic, which is also an iPod dock and satellite radio receiver--Visteon, JVC, and other players. The organization helps users listen to AM signals with FM Quality and FM signals with CD quality. Now if only they could do something about the programming...
We've covered more toast-related gadgets than may be seemly here on Gearlog. But this one is not to be resisted! The Pop Art Toaster comes with special plates that let you personalize your toast with smileys, butterflies, and pithy sayings (such as "Bite Me" and "I'm Hot"). But wait! This fall, you'll be able to buy colored, flavored pens so you can decorate your toast even more. Sweet toast in the morning!
Back in 2005 Lance reviewed the VEX Robotics Design System, a cool DIY kit for robot fanatics such as himself. Now Revell Monogram is bringing out a sequel, the VEXplorer Robotics System, which they describe as being more accessible to mainstreamers. You can pick one up this fall for $299.
Last but certainly not least is the impressive indoor gardening system from AeroGrow, the AeroGarden Pro 100--featuring "state of the art, microprocessor-controlled Adaptive Growth Intelligence." I'm not sure what that is, either, but if I could really grow tomatoes in my apartment, I'm willing to investigate! Just $169.95, available now.

re: Ron. The tagline under Gearlog is "a gadget guide for geeks, by geeks" - this is a geeked out toaster I would love to have. Toast rocks. You don't. And Rachel Ray is freakin' hot! What does this have to do with making your computer run better? Not a damn thing indeed. And your point is?
