Regal Guest Response SystemThe next time you're at the movies, someone may be spying on your every move. For a year now, Regal Entertainment Group has been testing a wireless device in 14 theaters to alert theater managers of disruptions and piracy. "We have noticed over the years that customer etiquette has become more and more of a problem," says Dick Westerling, Regal's senior vice president of marketing and advertising. "We're doing what we can to provide a friendly environment for all moviegoers."

This week, the company will be issuing the wireless device, which looks like a walkie-talkie, to 114 theaters. Customers who are a part of Regal's Loyalty Points Program will be hand-selected to take this device into a movie. There are four buttons on the Regal Guest Response System: Picture, Sound, Piracy, and Other Disturbances. It is up to that person to press any of the buttons once they witness any of the above occurrences.

Let us know what your thoughts are on this response system. [via USA Today]

I think that this is very good for the company. I witnessed piracy. In theatre 708 in march I think and I reported it. I received a $500.00 dallor check!
That was pretty cool! It is very hard for the employees to catch people in the act of Piracy or to catch and stop people from being very disruptive in the theatre while the movie is playing Unless there is security posted the whole movie! I think by letting the Regal loyalty Customers perticipate in theatre checks it would help improve theatre's. so that Regal doesn't lose money or customers!

Who is this boob? "a $500.00 dallor check!" You gotta be kidding me.

I dunno about ya'll, but I witness Picture and Sound during every movie I see. Kinda useless buttons, like an "EVERYTHING IS OKAY!" button.
