AT&T said last week that is has hired 2,000 temps for its 1,8000 stores to handle sales of the iPhone, which launches this Friday at 6pm. local time. "AT&T sales staff have received a total of 100,000 hours of training to sell the device, at 'the high end of the normal range' with an average of 6 hours per employee, said Siegel."AT&T stores will close at 4:30pm on Friday and then reopen at 6pm to prepare for the launch. I can only imagine how crazy it is going to be that day, let alone for our resident cell phone analyst Sascha Segan who has to test the iPhone! Drop us a line if you plan on buying the iphone, or just see it as another over-hyped product, in our comments. [via Fox News]

Six hours of training for a tremendously complex smart phone.
That'll go well, I'm sure.
