What was Blogging Molly Excited to see at the Holiday Gift Parade this year? Marching bands? No. Clowns? Yes! Er, no. You guessed it--Sony Ericsson's 5-megapixel cameraphone! Having recently read Sascha Segan's report on PCMag.com, I was dying to see the thing in action. And there it was amongst the Walkmen phones and Bluetooth accessories--the CyberShot K850. It was, in one word: gorgeous. The company is thinking consumers will consider this cameraphone as a replacement for a basic compact camera on the go. I think it could be a good choice in some cases, but the lack of optical zoom, among other things holds it back. Check out Sascha's full report on PCMag.com. More images of the phone after the jump. Here's an excerpt of his story to whet the appetite:
The phone is very photo-oriented: when you turn it sideways, secondary indicators light up on several of the number keys to turn them into photo option buttons, and previews look great on the 320x240 screen. The cameraphone also has a xenon flash and staves off the shutter delay problems inherent in slow cameraphone autofocuses by using BestPic, a sort of amped-up burst mode that starts taking pictures before the autofocus has fully locked.
